Comment on Sayyidina Musa and his sandals

On my Previous Post regarding Figurative Interpretation in Quran and the reference to the command for Sayyidina Musa to remove his sandals.

an interesting comment by dr ahmad:

al malibariiy said...

interesting take on removal of slippers by Prophet Moses (pbuh).

but juz to draw parallels to the Isra Mikraj...
the scholars confirm that there is no mention or narration of Rasulullah (pbuh) removing his sandals at all upon reaching Sidratul Muntaha... in fact he was "sandal-ed".

Imam Yusuf Nabhani wrote about this when explaining the "significance of the Prophet's sandals" and the difference of maqam of the Prophets. In short, he said something on the lines that whatever was associated with the Prophet (pbuh) had its status alleviated as well... even the sandals (cos it was in contact with the blessed feet of the Prophet (pbuh)!)

Crudely speaking....Imagine that Jibril had to be left behind after a certain point but the sandals followed thru' the Mikraj. :)
